Hello, readers! Since The Wyrforra Wars has a lot of characters (and many of them have strange names), I've created a handy-dandy character guide! This is meant to be read along with Book 1: Wyrforra (there will be a separate one for Book 2: Wyrling). Feel free to leave a comment, or contact me with any questions. Enjoy! The Resistance: Robin – (pronounced like the bird) – A mysterious figure who emerged from a war-torn landscape to fight for the Resistance. Robin has jet black hair that she keeps short and tucked behind her ears, so it doesn’t get in her way while she fights. Working as a spy for the Resistance, she wears a mask to keep her identity a secret. At the time of Wyrforra, she is 21 years old. Daire – (pronounced like “dare”) – A brave young Resistance warrior, Daire’s loyalties lie with humanity, and more importantly, with his friends. Daire’s deep-set, forest-green eyes are shadowed under dark, messy hair that falls around his thoughtful features. After losing his family in the war and finding a home with the Resistance, Daire is determined protect the ones he cares about. He and Robin are both 21 during the events of Wyrforra. Fox – (pronounced like the animal) – At 18, Fox is one of the youngest members of the Resistance’s fighting force, but he also among the wisest. He completes the Resistance’s most effective trio, as he fights alongside Robin and Daire, his closest friends. He has short, sandy hair, kind brown eyes, and a cigarette habit. Cap – (short for “Captain”) – A grizzled old war veteran, Cap served with Daire’s father before the Wyrforra Wars. After the invasion, Cap spearheaded the Resistance in order to protect humanity’s future. Cap has dark skin, no hair, and a fair but take-no-shit attitude. Arianna – (“air-ee-ON-uh”) – One of the Resistance’s best fighters, Arianna is a tough-as-nails motorcycle enthusiast who prefers to sleep under the stars and doesn’t always play well with others. Her dark, sarcastic sense of humor can get her in trouble; luckily, she’s usually crafty enough to get out of it. Her gray, storm-cloud eyes almost seem to look right through people. Dr. Hanson – (“han-sen”) – No one really knows what old Dr. Hanson did before the war, but now, she’s in charge of keeping the entire Resistance in fighting shape. This doesn’t leave her much time for pleasantries, but despite her steely exterior, she cares deeply for her friends in the Resistance. The Seven – The Seven are the ruling body of the Resistance. They are carefully chosen to represent all the people of the Resistance, warriors and civilians from all demographics, to make decisions that will keep everyone safe from the Wyrforra– if they can. At the time of Wyrforra, the Seven are: Cap – See Cap’s description above. Robin – As a spy, Robin’s insider knowledge of the Wyrforra makes her a valuable addition to the Seven. Aris Wisteria – One of the founders of the Resistance, Aris counsels mercy and only resorts to violence when necessary. Chris Sakata – Chris is fiercely protective of the Resistance, which can make him quick to argue and quicker to fight. Anna MacCain – Anna has brought her fiery passion from the heart of NYC to the Resistance. She’ll fight anyone to help the Resistance. I heard she even fought a bear once. Naveen Gamir – A soft-spoken man with mysterious origins, Naveen listens very carefully and thinks things through. His kindness is known throughout the Resistance, and his wisdom is often sought. Arthur – Arthur is very, very old, and very, very wise. No one knows much else about him. The Wyrforra: (“where-FOR-uh” You know werewolves? Think of these guys like were-people.) The Wyrforra are ruled with a monarchy. The laws of succession are tricky, because the current ruler can change them at will, by either appointing a successor (whomever they choose; often a war hero) or declaring an heir (generally their biological child). High King Erenvyr – (“AIR-en-veer”) – High King Erenvyr (alias: Arron King) is the leader of the Wyrforra. His calm, controlled demeanor makes him an excellent politician, but those close to him know of the rage hidden beneath his cherry-red eyes. His hair is stark white, but not from age. During the events of Wyrforra, he is in his forties. Odyra Warringgate – (“oh-DIE-ruh”) – Odyra serves as the King’s spymaster and one of his most trusted (or at least respected) underlings. Her long wine-red hair is pulled back into a banded ponytail, and she wears black armor and an unreadable expression in her pink eyes. During the events of Wyrforra, Odyra is only 15 years old– but don’t let that fool you. She’s as strong and biting as cyanide, and three times as deadly. Almyrr – (“ALL-meer”) – As the High King’s best bodyguard, Almyrr is resolute and unyielding. As the High King’s assassin, he is silent and devastating. All around, Almyrr is not someone you’d want to meet in a dark alley. Almyrr is in his forties during the events of Wyrforra, and he keeps his long black hair tied back, and his long black coat free of blood (mostly). Tylos Lysander – (“TIE-loes”) – Tylos Lysander is a Soldier, First Class, fighting against the Resistance for the Wyrforra. He’s got black hair, piercing (yet sad) yellow eyes, and supposedly a tattoo– but that’s just a rumor. (Or is it?) Others: The Mad Cat (Hadryll) – (“HA-drill”) – He was a normal Wyrforra soldier. Now, he’s the Mad Cat. What happened? Who is he? What is he? No one really knows… especially not him.
